About The Work Atlas

Written and maintained by Samantha Couper

Hi, I'm Samantha.

I've spent the last eight years working remotely — first as a project manager at a mid-size SaaS company, then as a freelance operations consultant helping small teams build better workflows. Over that time, I've bought (and returned, and replaced) more office gear, productivity apps, and collaboration tools than I can count.

The Work Atlas started as a personal spreadsheet where I tracked everything I'd tested. Friends kept asking me which standing desk I'd recommend, which headset actually blocked noise on calls, which project management tool was worth the subscription. Eventually the spreadsheet became a blog.

What We Cover

This site focuses on three areas I know well from years of remote work:

How We Review

I research every product before writing about it — reading specs, comparing user reviews across platforms, and where possible, using the product myself. For gear reviews, I purchase or borrow the item and use it for at least a week before writing anything. For software, I run free trials or use tools I've paid for as part of my own workflow.

I don't accept payment for positive reviews. Some links on this site are affiliate links (Amazon Associates), which means I earn a small commission if you buy through them — at no extra cost to you. This helps keep the site running. I only link to products I'd genuinely recommend.

Get in Touch

Have a question, a product suggestion, or want to share your own experience with something I've reviewed? I'd love to hear from you.
